Matrix week

Isn't it strange that I had 2 shifts this week but couldn't find the time to blog since Monday?

But that's what's happened - Tuesday I was in London hunting ;kraddy paddies' (krabby patties) for the boy for his party. Cybercandy were out (sorry boy). Found some amazing things in Covent Garden though. Guess who got a Gruffalo, and a gruffalo lunch box for their third birthday?

Wednesday it was a shift day. Spent the evening baking a cake.

Thursday the boy turned three. That's freaking scary! Anyway, I had a late shift so he only opened a couple of presents, and then went to nursery, and once I finished work we went to my sister's house to check out her nursery for the baby she's having in November and boy opened his presents there. He got a buzz lightyear I bought in America for $24.50. So that's like, £16. Yay for bargains, lol.

Friday I was shopping for party food and cooking party food and having my first driving lesson in 5 weeks and I only went for the accelerator instead of the break/sailed through junctions in third or fourth a few times.

And yesterday was party day, so cooking in the morning, and party in the afternoon (and a knackered boy sleeping until half 5. Sweet!).

Oh, and my brother's girlfriend's been over with her son all week, so there's been two 3 year olds running around causing havoc and pushing bedtimes all week. Not that I'm a bitchy mum, but her boy was up until 11 at the earliest each night. We let boy stay up until 10 Thursday (for presents) and Friday (because mummy was busy making the most amazing looking cake) and I felt bad for that.

Anyway, it's beach day today! So ... maybe blog in a few days?

I am still here!

I'm such an obsessive blogger, aren't I?

I am still here, I promise. Yesterday I got sick again. I had a sore throat through my driving lesson, and my sinuses got clogged, and I felt nauseous, and I fell over and hurt myself to boot. And basically, I fell asleep at 8.30 last night.

And today we chillaxed in the morning, went to work's funday, then last minute boy's Godfather invited me out for football/party ... so I've been at a Golf Club all evening. My eyes are tired from my contacts.

I'll write properly tomorrow. I'm re-reading the Deathly Hallows while reading this bridesmaids book, so there's nothing huge going on in the reading/writing department (though, I have to ask, L, have you looked at the memory stick yet?) ... haven't had the time, or the wellness. I've only got a short shift wednesday, might be able to push on with it all. Or crack the tarot stuff out, maybe?

Huh

My head was spinning when I woke up. Had a cold bath and have been wearing this gorgeous blue dress I ordered from Joe Browns but still don't feel right. It's hard to know if it's just the bug or this weather too?

Claire had MTV: teen cribs on earlier. Interesting, but the screen still hurt my eyes.

Did something I haven't done for a looong while too, and picked up Deathly Hallows again. Me and the boy are on Order Of The Phoenix, I should be more patient, lol.

Like, I want to see if my computer's in stock yet, and get Alice in Wonderland ... but I can't. Not when I'm off work sick. Will be calling for a back to work interview for tomorrow though. 2 days is enough ... even if I still feel off. I need the money. And then if I'm on tomorrow's shift, I can go get it all after ... I had to cancel my driving lesson this morning too, thought if my head was that fuzzy, I shouldn't get behind the wheel. Feel like I let my instructor down though :(

Procrastinating again

I'm halfway through cleaning out my room, but it's so draggy, I'd rather blog.

My driving lesson was good this morning. Cut off a couple of 4x4's, whoops! I had to keep doing roundabouts, and turning on the right. Apparently, I'm much too chicken on roundabouts lol, I'll sit there for hours waiting for an opening. My instructors and my idea of an opening are very different though.

Anyway, then I had to get my eyes checked up. After the normal checks with my lenses in and out, and after they put in dye to see for any scratches etc, the doctor gave me these one-day lenses, which have a grey tinge around the edge of the iris, and coloured lines along the iris. They make your eyes pop. He was a pretty funny guy, I liked him. He also said I lost out on £1m because I missed one letter on the chart with my contacts in, but fair dos, I couldn't even see the big letters on the screen without any eye support. Feel like I'm going blind!

Also - I bought a Blu-Ray player. Going to watch Harry Potter Hi Def when the boy's asleep tomorrow night :D got an exclusive clip of the Deathly Hallows, so YAY! I am such a PotterDork.

Back to my cleaning now. Might update again in a few!

Let's go, go GO!

So, I've been driving since September. Lessons, I mean, I haven't even looked at test options yet.

Anyway, today I had a lesson before work (the joys of shifts) and it was pretty good. Been doing 'turn in the road' for a while, and I started reversing round corners a few weeks ago (am better at the corners than the turns. Especially if another car shows up, my instructor has to remind me to go slow. Meh) and today I got to reverse park ... was pretty good! I do actually love driving but whenever I get in the car it takes me a minute of staring at the controls to remind myself what the hell I'm actually doing. And when I started, 20mph scared me, but now ... it's 50 or nothing hahaha, no wonder I get called a boy racer.

We had a couple of rocky weeks about a month or so ago, where it felt like he was telling me something and expecting something else. And he's making me decision make more, but we got to this one roundabout back then and every time I went to go he'd put the brakes on and make me start again - so frustrating! But now I'm kicking ass on roundabouts. Almost.

I've got a mental block with the theory books though. I keep telling myself it's common sense, but ... I haven't lifted a textbook in a while, okay? I am strictly fictional post-Uni. Which is probably why this end of things doesn't appeal to me.

I have to drive though. My dad keeps falling asleep at the wheel because we all kind of expect a lot out of him (I'm trying to help out, but sometimes it's hard to fit it all in) and I don't want him to get him or anyone else killed because he didn't get enough sleep. Plus, when the boy goes to school/clubs, I wanna be the one to take him where he needs to be (and he's shown a big interest in Karate. Helped by my brother-in-law, who's a blackbelt). It's necessity and not desire that has me driving ... but it's nice to know you can enjoy something you HAVE to do.
